Bad Influence 156 Finishes Second Overall in the 2026 ASBR 400 Class

The 2026 American Sprint Boat Racing (ASBR) season is in the books, and Bad Influence 156 finished it P2 in the ASBR 400 Class. For a team built in our own shop in Cheshire, Oregon, that's a season to be proud of.

The team

Steven Church drives and Randi Church navigates. Bad Influence 156 races a Jetspeed X1 hull in the ASBR 400 Class, where boats run 400 cubic inch engines with cast iron heads. Steven and Randi took over the team in 2019, and the boat's sprint history goes back to Ron Domoe's first season with it in 2010.

The 2026 season

The 2026 ASBR series ran across the Pacific Northwest. Our gallery covers every 2026 round we raced:

  • Lewiston, May 2026
  • Yakima, June 2026
  • Extreme Sports Park (ESP), Port Angeles, July 2026
  • Yakima, August 2026
  • Webbs Slough, August 2026
  • Extreme Sports Park (ESP), Port Angeles, September 2026
  • Lewiston, October 2026 (season finale)

Every one of those weekends meant hours of wrenching, travel and setup before a single run. Sprint boat racing rewards consistency, and points add up over a full season. Finishing P2 in a competitive 400 Class field is the result of showing up ready at every round.
